Tether and RAK DAO collaborate on Bitcoin and stablecoin education
Tether has announced an educational collaboration with RAK DAO, an acronym for RAK Digital Assets Oasis. The educational collaboration begins with signing an MoU, which is a Memorandum of Understanding, which is one of the first steps toward the future. Tether and RAK DAO will work together to foster the adoption of technology around Bitcoin and stablecoin.
The collaboration’s macro perspective entails accelerating the acceptance of crypto payments within the region. They will continue to design education programs solely focused on blockchain. The strategic move entails Tether Edu’s participation in multiple fields. This includes, without limitation, stablecoin adoption, blockchain, Bitcoin, peer-to-peer technology implementation, and exploring cryptocurrencies’ real-world use cases.
Paolo Ardoino, the Chief Executive Officer of Tether, has said that they were proud to enter into a partnership with RAK DAO, adding that they are now committed to working with RAK DAO and making the dream of accelerating the adoption of Bitcoin and stablecoin a reality. Paolo has confirmed that Ras Al Khaimah is the only free zone dedicated to the proliferation of digital asset endeavors.
Dr. Sameer Al Ansari, the Chief Executive Officer of RAK DAO, has commented on the collaboration, saying that it marks a pivotal moment for them as their journey to becoming a regional hub for blockchain innovation begins. Sameer has further shed light on their aspiration, stating that they are aiming to drive economic growth while fostering cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin.
Tether is also looking forward to forming more partnerships in the region to empower local businesses to make the most of innovation. This comes after Ras Al Khaimah registered interest from over a hundred businesses to date.
Tether and Bitnob had previously announced a similar partnership. The partnership specifically aimed to promote financial education on Bitcoin and stablecoins in the African region. However, the target is thin in this instance, as the objective is to educate Ghanaian university students on the said cryptocurrencies.
Bitnob had expressed its dedication to hosting a series of educational events across various universities, providing students with a better understanding of stablecoins and Bitcoin. The University of Ghana and the University of Cape Coast will host the upcoming events on May 15, 2024, and May 18, 2024, respectively.
This signifies that Tether is expanding its interest in ensuring that a large population is well-educated on the working mechanisms of the Bitcoin blockchain and stablecoins. It opens the doors to exploring many more industry segments, such as DeFi and NFT, among others. Educational initiatives are a safer way for Tether, or any other crypto-focused venture, to connect with people when it comes to fostering the adoption of innovative solutions—cryptocurrencies in this case.
