Bit Digital Acquires NC Facility for AI and HPC Expansion

Bit Digital Inc, a leading sustainable platform for digital assets and artificial intelligence, has announced the acquisition of an industrial facility in Madison, North Carolina, which was formerly owned by Unifi, a textile manufacturing company, for $53.2 million as per Wu Blockchain.
The purchase was made through the Canadian subsidiary Enovum Data Centers, which includes factory buildings, land and some equipment. The entire acquisition is said to be completed by May 15, 2025, and is an important part of Bit Digital’s acquisition for AI high-performance computing (HPC) MinerMag.

The Madison facility that has been purchased is in line with Bit Digital’s bigger strategy. With this acquisition, the company will be able to vertically integrate and expand its HPC footprint. The existing facility, which is already equipped with infrastructure and leased capacity, will allow Bit Digital to speed up its growth without any delays and cost of building the premises from scratch.
Moreover, retaining experienced staff will ensure that smooth operations are carried out and this supports the company’s strategic shift towards AI and HPC markets. This will solidify Bit Digital’s position in the growing sector.

Bit Digital’s CEO, Sam Tabar, pin pointed and highlighted the acquisition as a transformational change that would enable the company to up its game in its AI and HPC service efficiency.
The company is on an active look out for GPU hosting contracts and has also signed a deal with cloud gaming provider Boosteroid recently. This move is said to generate a different revenue stream for the company and capitalize on the growing demand for GPU-powered AI and gaming infrastructure.
